Do you hate your yard? Meet Sara Bendrick, designer, licensed landscape contractor, and TV host of DIY Network’s I Hate My Yard. She’s passionate about art and nature, and has a deep appreciation for all living things. This landscape-loving guru is visiting us at the Salt Lake Tribune Home + Garden Show and just in time for spring.
“I love that I have the opportunity to combine nature with a built environment to create a sense of place. I have always been interested in horticulture & art. Designing landscapes allows me to combine both of my passions. I feel very fortunate to have a career that can combine artistic expression & environmental awareness with purpose & function.”
With her creative skill set and outgoing personality, Sara helps people realize the potential in their exterior spaces. Currently, she owns a successful landscaping design business in San Diego called Sarita Landscapes. This year she’ll also be releasing her first book, Big Impact Landscaping, which you can pre-order.

3 TIPS FROM SARA:
- Keep up with curb appeal year-round by making maintenance a habit.
- When making improvements, spend time on the entrance of the home. It’s the first thing people will see that represents you and your home.
- It’s fun to play with trends, they can really add something to a space, without defining it.
